The VGC 2020 is proud to have partnered the scientific programme with French organisations. The host institutes, Aix-Marseille University, OSU Pytheas and CEREGE, are joined by the LAM (included in OSU Pythéas). The CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) contributes to VGC2020 as the managment body of the conference registration.

  • Aix-Marseille Université (AMU): with includes nearly 80,000 students, with 10,000 international students and nearly 1,000 national and university diplomas, a career guidance and professional integration service, a continuing education service, with 120 research structures linked to the largest research organisations (Inserm, CNRS, IRD, INRA, CEA, etc.) and its 12 doctoral schools, Aix-Marseille University is a considerable asset in the service of territorial economic development and beyond.

AMU

  • L'Observatoire des Sciences de l'Univers (OSU) Pytheas:

The OSU Pytheas Institute, placed under the joint supervision of the CNRS  and the IRD, is an internal school of Aix-Marseille Université covering the five main scientific themes of the Earth and Space Sciences:

    • Environment geosciences
    • Sciences of biodiversity and ecology
    • Astronomy
    • Océanology
    • Society - Environment interactions.

 OSUPytheas

  • Le Centre Européen de Recherche et d'Enseignement des Geosciences de l'Environnement (CEREGE): The CEREGE regroups around 130 permanent staff (45 university lecturers and professors, 40 researchers and 45 engineers, technicians, and administrative staff), and 110 temporary staff including around 60 graduate students.

CEREGE is a joint research centre (UM 34), incorporating Aix-Marseille University (AMU), the CNRS (UMR7330), the IRD (UMR 161), and the COLLEGE DE France. The INRA is also a partner. We are located in Provence, at the Technopôle Environnement Arbois Méditerranée, Petit Plateau de l’Arbois (Aix-en-Provence, Les Milles) and on the St Charles campus of AMU in Marseille. Thanks to its theoretical, methodological, and technological approaches to research, CEREGE is strongly interdisciplinary.

 CEREGE

  • Le Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille (LAM): The LAM is one of the largest astrophysics public research institutes in France. It combines fundamental research in Astrophysics and the development of instrumentation for space and ground-based telescopes.
